Prime Time TV In The USA

After a long day at work or studying, one of the best ways to relax is to sit in from of the TV and take control. It does not matter anymore what’s your show preference, because for sure you can find it. Every night, the networks and cable stations bring to your living room a great variety of shows; from sitcom, drama series, sport events, music videos, special interest topics, shows, movies, news, all the way to reality show. It is hard to say any more “there’s nothing on TV tonight”.

“Prime Time is the time period when the television or radio audience is the largest.” (Merriam-Webster). If you watch TV between 8:00 PM and 11:00 PM, you are not alone. Millions of people do the same every night. The most popular prime time shows get around 20 millions viewers every week. Networks compete for your time, and spend the most money in the programs schedule at this time.

A regular Prime Time Season is from late September to early May. The lineup for a new season is such a big deal, that network executives announce it in special events in the middle of the summer. In these events the executives give the list of the new, returning and cancelled shows.

Below is a list of some of the shows that were cancelled for the 2007/2008 season:

* Gorge Lopez – ABC

* Jericho – CBS

* Close to Home – CBS

* The Class – CBS

* Crossing Jordan – NBC

* Identity – NBC

* Studio 60 on The Sunset Strip – NBC

I manage a TV website where you can find information about primetime TV shows, movies, TV rankings, etc. As you can see I love TV, and like to talk about it. When I’m not watching TV or working in my website, I like to play tennis, play with my son and go out for a good dinner. By the way, my website is http://www.sparetimetv.com
